Thankyou for visiting our little home on the web. I have been owned by these delightful little dogs since the mid 80's and bred my first litter in 1990.
Lurikeen is not just about Show dogs, we strive to breed versatile Shelties that have the soundness of mind and body to be Loving Family Companions, Obedience/Sporting or Show Dogs.
Lurikeen is not just about one person, we are group of friends who have the same ideals and love of this beautiful breed. Julie Harris (Ashlea's mother), who takes our gorgeous photo's you will see here, groomer extrodinaire and is one of the most important members of our team. Kirsty & Jackie Post who are a very dedicated mother/daughter team who recently spread their wings with their own Prefix, Jeanette Mitchell and now Elizabeth Ayre , who has chosen to join us in our endeavours to promote, exhibit and enjoy this wonderful breed within our group.
Lurikeen has been utilising DNA testing now for quite some time with all the Shelties we own, ensuring that only the soundest of parents are used in our breeding program and when a Lurikeen Sheltie enters the Show/Obedience or Agility ring you can be sure they are as sound as a working breed should be.
Lurikeen is proudly a jointly owned Prefix with Ashlea Stanton. Ashlea has been showing Lurikeen bred Shelties now for over 10 years and has taken them to the highest levels of competition with her mother Julie. We look forward to continued success in the years to come.
